When the melancholy ballads of Alex In Bloom sound, you first think you're hearing a classic singer-songwriter.
You get sad-beautiful, rock-pop songs and each song knows how to surprise musically at the end. But most of the songs like
"Quarantine", "Mad Man's Democracy" and "Inside Exit" suggest an independent rock band with dream pop, blues, rap and folk elements.
However, it is clear that there is no band behind the stage name.
Alex In Bloom is a solo artist and also a multi-instrumentalist. Because the entire world of instrumental chimes,
which you get pounded or petted lovingly and well thought around your ears, has been thought up and played by Alex himself.
The live performances offer an entertaining and varied “one-man show”. Alex In Bloom's songs are arranged differently in his
shows than on the recordings. Because unless lightning strikes him or a spider bites, Alex only has 2 hands. Fortunately,
these days there are a lot of technical walking aids like looper and drum machines. With this, Alex can skillfully conjure
up a hand or two. The songs, which are already varied, are always performed in new variations. "This way I keep the fun of
playing live and I always come up with something new," says Alex: "It's good for your own creativity."
The current EP "Agorachromania" contains 6 tracks that take us on a little journey through a shelf with nested drawers.
Fun, gloomy, casual, melancholy. It's all there. If you love and live music from the most varied of styles, you should
definitely not miss Alex In Bloom.
